Great Shunner Fell


33 members of Goole Mountaineering Club made the outing to the Yorkshire Dales, floppy hats and sunglasses was the dress of the day with lots of suncream. standing at 716m 2,349ft Great Shunner Fell is the highest mountain in Wensleydale. The walk started at 1030 and was completed at 430pm. The group split into mixed abilities a slow family group and a more advanced group that moved at a quicker pace. The walk ended at the Green dragon pub in Hardraw, all the children then visited Hardraw Force waterfall, at 100ft It is the highest free falling waterfall in England. The next Walk planned is in the North Yorkshire Moors on sun 14 Aug, starting from Pickering across Levisham moor, 10 miles. Also a wine tasting night and disco is planned for sat 20th Aug at the Lowther Hotel. The picture shows the family group on the peak of the mountain.
